Review on Joystick Logitech G Saitek X56 H.O.T.A.S., black by Mateusz Rzeczycki ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like the product, the quality did not disappoint.

The backlight is only needed to visually determine which mode is on without focusing on the mode switch. There is no other meaning to lighting. Be sure to adjust the thrust in the application so that the top 10% is already the maximum. You can also set in the application to turn on some button when you go beyond 100% which are drawn on the rod. Carefully! The joystick is particularly sensitive in all axes. Before using it in any serious game, calibrate it in the app (adjust the sensitivity curves) and maybe even lower the sensitivity in the game. If everything is left linear, then, for example, in Arma 3 it will be almost impossible to control the interceptor, and you can forget about accurate bombing. You will be thrown and chatted from your slightest movement. But when you set it up for yourself, it will be awesome. Note: the curves are better adjusted to look like the formula y=x^3 for all axes (reason: slight play). If set up this way, it will allow the aircraft to accurately aim at the target with a sufficiently large deviation from the center and to maneuver sharply at maximum inclination. If the sensors are somehow buggy, all in the same application, you can manually set the Deadzone for each axis, both positive and negative. TL;DR: Joystick for those who want to get the most out of technology and are ready to delve into the settings for hours before starting to use it.

Pros
  • you can read the comment from intelfx. Everything is exactly like that.
Cons
  • Coincides with intelfx comment, but I will add from myself. The quality of the assembly goes depending on whether the assembler is tired or not. If you are not tired (I was lucky), then everything fits perfectly, everything is in place. To check, I disassembled the joystick and checked that the wires were not pinched anywhere, which occurs quite regularly VERY IMPORTANT: Check the pull lever (just remove the cover) and make sure that the wires do not have a visually hard break and have not been pinched. IF they were pinched, it's not scary because you checked it before you started using it. Gently move them so that they do not pinch when moving. If this is NOT done, then you will lose half of the functionality. You can watch more videos on YouTube about this particular problem with the joystick. I will also add that the joystick is NOT designed for a gorilla. If you have a habit (as I did at first) of squeezing the joystick until it crunches, get ready for some buttons to simply be pushed in and killed fairly quickly. Personally, I killed two Saitek Cyborg Evo in the trash without the possibility of recovery. And the X56 is even more gentle in this regard and will fail even faster. Therefore, be careful to use or choose a rougher and harder joystick.
