It's a little tight, but it's very cute.
My daughter is 2 years old, we ordered 2t-3t and she hardly closes. She is not overweight but is taller than average for her age. It's very cute though and she loves it. Another thing to consider, if it's unisex and fits a 2-year-old girl well, it will be even tighter for a boy.
