I needed regular cheap headphones for sound only from a Baofeng PDA. It uses a 2.5mm speaker plug. This radio is now of course mono so you only get sound from the left earphone (this is NOT a defect of this adapter, it is the type of "Kenwood" audio jack used in many ham radios). This is a STEREO plug adapter. , I actually tested it on an old Palm Treo phone with 2.5mm stereo and yep it worked fine in stereo. Once I paid twice as much for 1 similar adapter, now I have two of them!
