Complete rubbish. I figured either one would work. I was wrong. Delivers sound on one channel only and not on the microphone. I'm trying to use this to connect my headphones/mic to a cordless phone. Total failure.

Both devices failed after a month of use. The insulation of the rectangular plug is made of the same material as the wire insulation, but it is too soft. By simply grasping the plug body, you disconnect the cable from the plug.

One of them worked perfectly. On the other hand, when something was plugged into a 3.5mm jack, the sleeve and tip pins were somehow shorted internally. I didn't look for a replacement because it really wasn't worth it.

This item and the Monoprice 107128 3.5mm Mono to 3.5mm Stereo Jack Adapter allow you to connect standard stereo headphones a portable VHF/UHF FM transceiver (e.g. Baofeng ) without inadvertently shifting into gear. Excellent for using the transceiver as a low cost scanner or for general surveillance.

Use this with my old phone as an MP3 player to listen to music while mowing, good cable but it doesn't play both speakers/headphones/earbuds at the same time. When I barely turn it on I have both speakers but when I go to the 2nd click only 1 speaker works. Then when I turn it all the way on I have absolutely no sound, they fit my headphones perfectly, the plugs were just the right size just out of order to get me to work and that's how it was with both cables. So not really convinced yet.

This item is working properly at the time of this review. I will definitely leave an update if there is any problem.1. The seller says it will not work to connect a microphone. This line failed on the second day of use. The connector appears to have at least one open or loose wire, and it will not connect unless pushed aside or pinched. I chose this one because of the 90 degree connector which I figured wouldn't have any problems because the wire is bent.

I needed regular cheap headphones for sound only from a Baofeng PDA. It uses a 2.5mm speaker plug. This radio is now of course mono so you only get sound from the left earphone (this is NOT a defect of this adapter, it is the type of "Kenwood" audio jack used in many ham radios). This is a STEREO plug adapter. , I actually tested it on an old Palm Treo phone with 2.5mm stereo and yep it worked fine in stereo. Once I paid twice as much for 1 similar adapter, now I have two of them!
