Review on ๐ŸŽง XR8i In-Ear Headphones by Klipsch by Randi Heleotes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Still a little pricey even at $179

updated Original MSRP is $279 and I definitely wouldn't bother with them at that price, so my review is based on the $179 price tag . It's still too much for what's on offer. Build Quality: B- they feel like they'll last a while while I babysit them. While the cable is quite thick and the headphone case is solid, the audio jack is what worries me the most. It appears to be designed to accelerate wear as it is not L-shaped. This means that plugging these things into a 3.5mm jack is a problem if you don't want to wear out the cable. You can wear them in your ears for some time and they won't hurt. They can slip out a bit with the inevitable buildup of earwax throughout the day, but I just had to add a second cleaning of the cue tips to my daily routine. Sound Quality: B+, the bass isn't as punchy as advertised but they're definitely able to handle low frequencies without distortion to my non-audiophile ears. The mids are slightly overshadowed by both low and high frequencies. The overall soundstage is impressive as you get a 3D sound experience and not just a horizontal feel. For example, some instruments in each song sound like they are in front or behind you. Noise from the cable is a minor issue, as the included clothes clip muffles most of it. The kit includes: C-, ear tips of different sizes and a useless carrying case that will likely damage the headphones as it is a lightweight material. That's all. What a real stinker for the price. I feel like they should be $50 cheaper than what I paid for what they offer. I can't believe the original price of these things. I would rather give it 3.75 stars but 4 must be done.
