Cannot be flush mounted for wall lights

The ones I received often reported quirks with misaligned mounting holes so I expected that. However, additional and potentially dangerous other issues have been identified. The power cord is bent at a right angle and protrudes 0.2" from the base, so it can't be fixed near the wall and if you try to pinch the cord. up to the lampshade there is still a 1/8 inch gap between the inside of the lampshade and the bracket so the screws could have been tightened and stressed the glass significantly and possibly cracked. when the base is not fixed to the wall, but the lampshade goes beyond the base. If it were wall mounted, the curtain holes would NOT align.
