Review on 🎧 Etymotic Research MC5 Noise-Canceling In-Ear Earphones by Monique Ahn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Finally! I love these headphones!

I've been looking for a long, long time for quality in-ear headphones that will drown out the noise of my gym and sometimes office. After several unsuccessful purchases from other brands, I'm really happy with these headphones and I highly recommend them. I mainly use them at the gym where others have said that the noise from Miley, Justin and Celine just doesn't motivate me. working harder. And like others, I've learned the hard way that most headphones do very little to block that noise unless you're canceling it out at high volume (not perfectly, obviously). Also, I've never found earplugs that sit securely and comfortably in my ear when lifting weights, running, etc. I finally stumbled across the Etymotic brand. They might not be the sexiest headphones, but who cares? They are amazing. Sound quality: I liked the recommendations of others and broke them a bit before using. (I played music at low/medium volume on my laptop for several hours while doing other things). I'm not a music lover enough to understand how much this changes things, but I can say I'm very happy with the sound quality. I can't detect any distortion and they sound crisp and clear across the frequency spectrum. The bass has improved over time and I'm totally happy with it (I've got about 50 hours of music through them now). Fit: These are without a doubt the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. If you are satisfied with the design of "earplugs", you will appreciate them. They fit snugly in my ear and I hardly notice they're in place. I wear them for several hours in a row and have no complaints. I definitely can't say the same about other brands I've tried. Noise Blocking: These are entirely consistent with the positive reviews others have given. With them on (and the music off) I can barely hear anything around me. I definitely won't be running or cycling outside with them - that's how good the soundproofing is. And as the manufacturer says, this sound dampening allows you to listen to music at a lower volume, which of course is to protect your hearing. They are also good for travel; in planes and cars (not driving!) they do their job fantastically. I now prefer them to my on-ear Bose active-cancelling headphones for air travel. They are smaller and significantly quieter and do not require a battery change. Overall I am very happy with them and I am fully committed to Etymotic products. They're not the cheapest, but they're certainly a lot cheaper than Bose and other active-cancelling headphones. The sound quality suits me well; They are exceptionally comfortable and completely drown out Bieber noises. What more do you want?
