The cones that came with my Brother 1034D serger are mostly broken (the plastic has aged/dried out in the 5 or so years that I have owned my favorite serger) , but I can honestly say that these cones fit better. I don't have to flip them to secure the large spools of thread and the plastic feels more flexible. I expect them to outlive their predecessors! Very happy with them
