In this price range it is not made of solid wood. My big problem is that it just looks like plastic. You can see the front left corner in my photo where the wood decal is not perfectly aligned. However, this is what I needed and it looks great in my office. One thing to note is that this doesn't tell you how far from the corner the wooden planks need to start. I placed them exactly 4 inches from the corner and found I had to hammer the shelf in place (which might be a good thing since it doesn't come loose without force). So if you're wondering how far to place them, I'd say 4.5 inches from the corner would be a safe length. I thought the plastic anchors were fine as there were two on each piece and the shelf was screwed into it. It feels solid, although I don't plan on putting much weight on it. Overall this is what I needed/wanted, just wish it looked a little better.
