Review on Nelson-Rigg Stormrider Waterproof Rain Suit for Enhanced Protection by Zane Myers

Broke down in a weekend

If I were writing this review after the first 4 or 5 hours of using this suit I would give it 4 or 5 stars - it fits well and stays dry. However, I spent about 15 hours in the pouring rain one weekend and returned home with a wet jacket. In the picture you can see a few white spots on the black - this is the liner which has peeled off over the weekend, getting dry from Friday and Saturday night to Sunday afternoon and then completely torn inside on Sunday afternoon. I bought these in May 2018 and wore them for about 2 hours before the weekend which obviously turned out to be worse than expected. To be fair I rode a sport bike so there was little wind protection and our speeds ranged from 45-60mph on twisty roads to a steady 90mph on 15-20 minute stretches which can result in a lot of hitting. Some of my passengers' various jackets were also out of order, so I wasn't alone, even though most of them were older than this one. A 4 year old Olympia went through this quite normally, so I'm going to replace her with her. I will note that the pants have held up well, they don't seem to be made of a double layer that can fall apart. If you live in a place where you really rarely need a raincoat, this might be enough for you for a while. Everyone else, learn from my experience!
