Outer cover stretched when first removed to allow debris to get between phone and case. That means after he opened it to put the phone down and then cleaned it once, it started to stretch. After 1 1/2 years I exchange it, since only parts of it connect more with the plastic inner housing. I refused to pay more than $50 to buy another suitcase until I couldn't look at it anymore. Well, 6 months ago I ripped the home button cover because I couldn't unlock my phone when it was on. Of course that looks bad and more dirt gets in, you have to clean more often and that stretches the outer coating more. Problem is, Otterbox Defenders has protected every smartphone I've ever owned. I've never had a cracked screen or dent and the glass on the 8 Plus is still in good condition. All after many falls. So will the new Otterbox cases get better after the update? I hope so, otherwise we'll have to look for a better company that values quality and reputation more than increasing profits. They end up disappearing because of their priorities.
