My daughter just started dancing when she was 4 years old. We change at least 1, sometimes 2 pairs of flats every year depending on their size. She is almost 7 years old. I was nervous about trying these as I have always bought her more expensive brands that offer plus sizes. These are definitely her favourites. These are the only ones she's ever been able to wear herself (goodbye laces!), and she said the crossed straps are more comfortable than single straps. She is currently a size 2 on New Balance and Stride Rite but has just started moving up to a size 2-1/2 to have some room to grow. Size 3 in these flat shoes is perfect for her. Comfortable as flats should be, but with enough room on the toes for her to wear them all season long. Soft leather - pleasant padding of the insole. And almost half the price we pay for other brands! She only wore them for 2 weeks so I'll let you know how well they hold up later this year. But so far we are VERY satisfied!
