I have bought similar duvet covers from two other brands only to return them before I found this keeper. I think it's hard to find true light gray in these yarn dyed covers. But in the end it's one thing. It's a nice cool gray tone that pairs well with darker grays and navy blue tones (doesn't turn purple or blue like others I've tried). I also love the little pleats in the fabric. It definitely looks like more expensive bedding. In terms of softness, everything was fine after washing according to the manufacturer's instructions. The only complaint is that the straps are tiny and flimsy on the inside corners, are already breaking down, and are clearly not going to last. Eventually I'll make my own, I'm sure. If they updated them it would be perfect. Very happy with this and the price. It looks like it cost twice as much, simple as that.
