The rating is very ambiguous. but honestly! Trouser hangers are made of thick, very durable metal. This makes them very strong and unlikely to buckle under weight. But. separate poles do not hold them. Every time I take it out of the closet my pants fall to the floor while I try to hang up a new pair! I do not recommend this item for everyday use in light pants. But. if you're wearing ski gear, working in thickly padded pants, or wearing heavy pants, they will likely be perfect and less likely to fall off. This is very bad. Three hangers, each with five slots, was a great financial thing. But I don't want to keep picking my pants off the floor. I recommend another product. I'm returning mine for something more functional.
