Review on ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Ultra-Comfortable Therm-a-Rest Mesh Cot: The Perfect Bed for Outdoors by Charles You

I have to admit I didn't want to like it.

2 year update (2019) - all below are still standing - Cot still offers good sleep with no problems No bent aluminium, no fabric or stitching issues. I use this crib every time I go camping. It's an XL and fitting it into my Fjรคllrรคven Abisko 2 is a bit tricky, but with careful handling it's doable. Also, I found that I didn't have to double the bars between the support legs under my head or my legs. Interestingly, I also found that when the cot net is rolled up tight, it fits into the round support legs, along with all the aluminum hanging bars and side posts. Makes for a very tightly packed package and I don't need a small zippered pouch and unused hanging rods, saving a few ounces of overall weight. Not a big deal for car/motorcycle camping, but as an older guy with creaky joints, this thing will take me on camping trips. Not as a luxury item, but as an essential item. Also, for those not using a sleeping pad on the cot, it can be kept very warm even in cold weather by using any combination of a reflective rescue blanket or Reflexix along with strategically padded clothing or a Wubi blanket under the cot (not between you and the crib screen) to eliminate convective heat loss. I've also used a hammock blanket underneath with great success. I was very wrong. Once I put a pad on it, it was awesome. For those buyers who flex and/or punch through the bars (me + pillow + bedding = 235 lbs), be aware that the design specs require the double bars to be twisted. Another thing that was difficult at first but gets easier as you break in is setting up the tent. You don't want to pack it outside the tent in the rain. It's mesh and dries for a long time. If you lie on a mat, that's not a big problem - you just wipe the floor of the tent in the morning. In any case, the more I use it, the more I like it. I considered the Helinox Cot Max option but it was almost double the price. I could also fix it at camping. I will be using this for car and canoe camping and motorcycle touring but I don't know how to carry a backpack. The package is not small. The time will show.
