My microphone works fine. With this mic I found sources of noise that I had never noticed before and which were very noticeable when recording with this mic (mains transformers, wall clocks, computer fans, refrigerator in several rooms). I mainly use the mic to record my own voice, so I find working with the dial on Cardioid is the best way to use the mic. the sound I recorded with this mic in Audacity (like a lowered version of how old CRTs sounded working). The problem was compounded when I pressed the volume button or tightened either of the two mounting screws on the sides. I found a solution: physically pull the volume knob. When I did this, the hum dropped to an inaudible level. To ensure I never hear the buzzing again, I actually pulled the dial too hard and it fell off the connecting shaft (the other end of the shaft remained attached to the potentiometer(?) that was soldered to the internal circuit board). , but the amount of force necessary to reliably seat the dial onto the shaft did not result in the recurrence of noise. You can try these steps if you find this hum appearing in your recordings. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a quality microphone to consider this option (with the caveat that I'm not an audiophile or professional audio engineer).
