Review on SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card - C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, SD Card - SDSDXXY-128G-GN4IN | High Capacity, Ultra-Fast, V30 Rated SDXC Card by Robert Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

More capacity for the money (but also slower than the Pro 300)

01/07/2020: This memory card will NOT work with the Canon EOS R when recording videos. With a V30 rating on this map, you need a V60. At first I shot 4K/30fps with the ALL-i option, but I started to choke. Then I realized since I had only recently received this camera that it needed a V60 card. I know the V90 is even faster, but much more expensive. Definitely an amazing memory card for the price as the 300MB/s version is much larger. I don't want my rating to crush this product at all as I take photos and videos with my Sony a7Riii for work so it's important that the memory card can keep up. This UHS-I card is definitely worth the money and probably overkill for most shooters, unless you're shooting 4K video and need a memory card that can clear the buffer relatively quickly. My results are based on two of these maps. since I need backup when traveling and the last thing I need is two cards failing. I tend to have add-ons (as I haven't had a single memory card that has let me down in over 15 years). With my Sony a7Riii, I was able to record continuously in 4K, 24 fps (at 100 MB/s) for 10 minutes as shown in the file. I'm glad both cards were legal as I don't usually buy memory cards here with all those horror stories. The gray tab is tested well, but the only thing I haven't been able to verify is the actual read/write with a real UHS-II and I card reader, which I don't currently have and ordered. Other than that yes, for 4K shooters. , this card will record easily at the full uncompressed setting of 100MB/s. If you shoot sports or have high-end DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, that's based on my review today, but here's the score between this and two Sandisk Extreme 128GB PROs (about $200 each). Burst results with this card: 30 shots. (at 1/8000") on my a7Riii, 39 seconds to clear the buffer. Burst results with Sandisk Extreme Pro 300, only 17 seconds to clear the buffer. Has a lower res and doesn't shoot continuously, this card should do more be than enough considering the price of the Pro 300. In fact, I don't feel like I'm taking full advantage of the Pro 300 as I don't have a UHS-II card reader that often these days as I watch a lot of videos shoot nowadays. If you have an expensive camera, get better memory cards. I haven't had a case of Sandisk memory cards failing (knock on wood). I just can't use Samsung as Sony isn't good with Samsung cards works as confirmed by other professional photographers and cinematographers ers It's weird.
