I installed them on street lamps about 2 years ago. They replaced conventional 10W halogen lamps. It should be noted that these bulbs are 0.25" taller than their counterparts and I had to modify the brackets to fit. Their color and brightness are exactly the same as the 10w bulbs they replaced. They have been ever since switched on until 12 o'clock every night whatever the weather Summer heat in winter, frost, snow, rain, water splashes, etc. Of course in the cases they are protected from the elements, but not from humidity and temperature UPDATE: These lamps have a small hole in the Top of the case for heating. I imagine disappointment. Although they are not directly exposed to moisture, they are prone to humid environments because they are landscape lights. Now they are starting to fail. I would not buy them again. In fact, there are now fully sealed units that are exactly the same shape and size as a standard G4/T5 lamp.
