DIFFICULT! best in my review

If you have trouble raising your arms this is not the hangar for you! You must reach all the way up to the top to adjust the hanging mechanism. And then it is so difficult to release the lever, that I had to totally remove the hanger from the hook to adjust the length of the wire.I suggest that you look carefully at the photo when ordering, and if it shows a little lever near the base of the photo, DON'T BUY IT! Instead, look for the one that has a ½ inch width ribbon like hanger such as:Brand

Not user friendly. best in my review

Not user friendly. The release tab gets "stuck” due to the weight of the plant. If I turn it upside down the release tab will work, however it’s at ceiling level. If I have to get a step stool to release it, I might as well just take it down.

Can’t release easy on my review.

It’s looks in place so you can’t adjust it when it’s locked. The kind you push up a little and can release it to come down would be way better

I thought it retracted!

I have one where you can pull down the silver part that the plant hooks to and then it will stay where you pulled it down to so you can water the plant and then you can make it retract. So Easy. This one though does not retract and if you have a plant hanging on it, you have to lift the plant and hope the thing will wind back up/retract. it's worse than having no device at all.

This pully defeats the purpose

I wanted a pully that can be pulled down and then lift back up without getting on a ladder. Defeats the purpose of the pulley!

Pulley not what I wanted

Not what I wanted. Wanted a pulley that can be pulled down and then lift back up without getting on a ladder. Defeats the purpose of the pulley.The packaging not so good either. Perforation strip was gone and package was open. Lucky items arrived inside the package.

Using for next spring, so can't rate as yet

Purchased these plant pulley hanger hooks for use next spring/summer, so I haven't used them yet. Can't rate their sturdiness or ease of use until then. Because the flower basket are large and heavy, I wanted hooks which would hold more than 20 pounds, These should work,

Waste of money. - my new review

The pulleys have a tab you have to click down for the cord to extend. If I could reach the clicker to lower it, then I don’t need the product.

Not really a pulley

This is an adjustable hook to set your plant at the height you want it to hang. Once set its set. You cannot use it like a pulley to pull the plant down for watering.

Poor quality best in my review

These hangers do not support a plant less than half the max weight. The thin retractable cable will break or frey and your plant will fall to the ground. Got a replacement order and so far 3 of the 4 have broke or show signs it is about to within a week. Save yourself the aggravation and find a better quality hanger that will last.

Bigger cable and a turning mechanism at top.

I was really excited about being able to raise and lower my hanging baskets, then one broke! The next thing I know 4 broke, the wire twisted and my plants are upside down on the front porch! I think the concept is great but not a little blowing and twisting in a very light breeze to cause it to break.I recommend thicker cable and a turning mechanism.

So nice to be able to push a button and lower plant to water it! Then when your thru just raise it back up! Thanks for attention!

Won't hold plant high enough

Don't like it even though I am using it because I really needed something to hold my plants up. It doesn't work the way I expected it too. Very disappointed

This is a really dumb idea. Read the fine print and customer reviews before you order this item.

This is a really dumb idea. Don't order it. You have to be able to reach up to the lock to unlock it before you can lower it. The lock is at the top of the pulley. So if you can reach that high, why do you need this retractable pulley in the first place? Other similar products do not have this lock and are much more user friendly. Perhaps this is a gene pool test to see how many people can't figure this out before ordering it.

They don't retract up like other pulleys.

I like these, however, when you release them to come down (to water), they do not retract back up. They are great, if your purpose isn't to water, but just to hang plants at different levels

Terrible design, do not buy

Ridiculous design. You have to manually unlock it to pull it down. If I could reach it well enough yi unlock the pulley, I wouldn’t really need the pulley.Additionally, I prefer to have the pulley at the very top/ceiling so it’s out of view. To use this, the ugly pulley would have to be down low within view. Returning them all.

I received the pulleys and almost laughed that it is advertised as weight bearing 55 lbs. I don’t think it would hold 5 lbs. Really cheaply made I’m sure in China. Don’t waste your money

Not what I expected

I was expecting a pulley that would allow me pull a hanging pot down from above, so I could water it more easily as well as easily reach the strawberries growing inside. However, this pulley can only extend the wire if you are holding down a switch on the side. So, essentially, in order to water/pick my strawberries I have to be able to reach up HIGHER than my plant to the pulley holding it up just to depress a switch to lower it.
