A Worthy Upgrade Over the Original Razer Kishi

I own both the V1 and V2 models and my phone is the S21 Ultra.TL;DR - Overall, a solid and more premium feeling improvement to V1 with some minor caveats. Improvements are significant enough to make the Kishi V2 the controller I will use going forward and will replace my Kishi V1.UPDATE: After using the controller extensively over the last couple of weeks (dozens of hours) I am increasing my score. I love this controller! I still think there is room for improvement in terms of the firmware…

Pros
  • This bundle offers seamless connectivity to your Android phone for uninterrupted gaming action
Cons
  • The buttons on the Kishi V2 controller may stick or not respond as well over time

Almost prefect in my review

I have a sumsung s22 ultra and fits farley well. Had to put the larger attachment on the side where the c port is due to the pressure separating the control apart near the r buttons. Overall I am beyond impressed if you use emulators you will have to map the buttons in the preferences of each emulator. Not a big deal very easy. My only complaint is the hard plastic buttons. During extended play the buttons begin to hurt your fingers a softer rubber probably been a better design. Other than that

Pros
  • Optimized for Maximum Performance: By utilizing your iPhone’s Lightning connection, Kishi eliminates input latency, allowing for responsive, seamless control—and features passthrough charging so you can power your phone as you game
Cons
  • The Kishi V2 controller may be too bulky to fit in smaller pockets or purses

Better than the first model

This is V2 of the Razer Kashi. Having spent an extended amount of time with the first, this at first look is an upgrade. Then you get to use it.The unit feels smaller than the original, in fact it is. There is a smoother feel, which makes it a little hard to handle. The stiff retractable back makes it feel sturdier when the phone is connected. The original often felt like it was going to break my phone. With that said this is where the issues arise. You can not have a case on to use this. I…

Pros
  • Really great, fits well over the phone case, makes phone gaming much easier and more fun
Cons
  • Limited compatibility for non-Android smartphones

Now I can play Xbox anywhere!

I have to say. I am impressed! I was hesitant to buy this due to its price, but I am glad I did.It is super responsive, quite comfortable in my big hands, and now I can play most of my favorite Xbox games anywhere with wifi or a good cellular signal. My galaxy note 20 ultra fits in there perfectly. It also feels very secure also. The only negative that I can come up with is. I wish I didn't have to take my case off every time I want to play.

Pros
  • Lightweight and Portable
Cons
  • The Kishi V2 controller may not be as durable as other mobile gaming controllers with reinforced materials

Not sure what Razer was thinking here

So.good news a bad news. The good news? Razer addressed my main issues with the original Kishi:1. V1 had a terrible d-pad. I very much like the V2 d-pad way better. The membrane is gone and it now uses some decently-weighted microswitches. Good stuff here.2. The stretching strap on V1 was more of a nuisance for me than anything. I use my Kishi on a dedicated phone for gaming, so the solid telescopic back of the V2 is a nice upgrade here.3. The rounded corners on the V1 where the phone goes…

Pros
  • This bundle is easy to use, letting you go from unboxing to gaming in just a few minutes
Cons
  • The Kishi V2 controller may not feel as natural to use as other gaming consoles

This just isn’t it.

Unfortunately you can do a lot better than this.I have used Backbone for a while and I wanted to give this a try because the reviews were pretty good and I liked the additional buttons along the bumpers. The box it arrived in is made of heavy cardboard and in a pinch, it makes a great travel case. That’s about where the good news ends.I’ve had a lot of problems with it and I’m only about 10 days in at the time of this review. The controls will frequently stop working in during play and when this…

Pros
  • Versatile Compatibility: Compatible with a wide range of Android devices, including smartphones and tablets
Cons
  • The controller may have a short lifespan if used frequently
