specifications on items are very important

I received the items but was disappointed to find that they are retractable only if pushing on button to release. I did not see that in specifications. It is very important for me to have that detail because I cannot reach up to release the button so had to use them for other purpose.

  • Easy to use and you can adjust the height of the basket so it looks good.

  • I didn’t read that it had to lock to put it in one place. I’ll deal with it

The lock switch means it is worthless

You have to lock and unlock it from the black plastic part to use. That means the hook needs to be reachable to make it go down or up and then relock. Need a ladder to use it. Worthless. My fault for not reading reviews.

Pros
  • Have them holding up 2 planters growing strawberries. Worth great.
Cons
  • Too hard to use and can’t reach the button to lower the plant.

Design flaw for pulleys.

Very poor design. Because locking up toggle is on the upper section, it cannot be accessed when you want to pulled down plant basket for watering, which is the reason I made this purchase.

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: Make sure the hook is in the direction (the rope is straight up) before use so that the hanger can work normally. Press the switch and pull it to the position you want to stay, when you not use it, you can easy to store it. Small and convenient, while saving shelf space.

  • The pulleys may be difficult to clean and maintain

Perfect for hanging plants

Able to set the length so that you can easily reach the basket to water and prune. Metal wire stands up to weather better than other products.

You must unlock before you pull down

I like the fact that you can adjust the height of the plant. I wish I had read closer because some of the pulley's I saw implied they would stay where you put them but that they pulled down with a quick tug. This pulley locks in place and you must manually unlock it before you can adjust up and down. Therefore, at my house it never moves from its position as I am too short to reach the lock that unlocks it without a ladder. If I had read that, I would have chose a different item.

Lock system no good

I visioned being able to just grab the plant and pull it down to water and then release and it would pop back up but since you have to lock to plant in the "up" position how do you reach the lock without getting a stool or chair? so you may as well just water the plant while you're up there.

What I thought, would be a solution to hang plants doesn’t work

The problem with these Pulleys is that you have to be able to reach the actual pulley itself in order to retract and make them functional. But if I could teach above the hanging plant, I wouldn’t need these in the first place. So, basically it was a huge fail for my needs. I wanted to hang a couple of ferns from my 15’ tall front porch eave but there’s no way to pull them down or send them back up, from the ground.

Disappointed good for me

I was very disappointed that these pulleys were not what I was looking for. There is a release switch at the top which means if the plant is hung from a high place you cannot reach the release switch to lower the plant.

Design flawed in my review

The pulley system work when trying to hang my plants. The pulley is on the top. Which I can't reach. So having a pulley out of reach makes no sense to have.Plus I had to return 2x. Said I wanted a replacement which I didn't

Not helpful! in my review

This design requires you can reach the release at the top to raise or lower the item which defeats the purpose of needing the item to begin with which is to lower a hanging item to your reach.

Broke after 2 days in my review

I bought these because I thought they would be better than the plastic ones. Well I was wrong! After 2 days of holding my plant on the deck, it frayed and broke sending my plant to the ground! Very disappointed! They definitely don't hold the weight it says! I definitely wouldn't buy them again.

This is not a true pulley system with tension

The entire point of using a pulley system is to be able to lower and raise something you cannot reach, right? With this product you have to be able to reach the hook to either lock or unlock a switch to raise or lower what you have hanging. Defeats the entire purpose. If I could reach it in the first place I would not have bought this. Total waste of time and money. Note before you buy, this pulley does not lower or raise with tension. Should have read reviews!

These are sturdy enough but definitely bit what I was looking for and had I read reviews I would have figured that out! You have to be able to reach the pulley in order to lower or put the plant back up which defeats the whole purpose of what I was trying to achieve! Ha! Not easy to raise and lower

They do not raise and lower easily. I purchased them to water hanging baskets; however, they are to hard to reach. You cannot just pull down and push them back up.
