I installed this on a 2012 Subaru Impreza with about 210,000 miles and it worked right away. The new gasket that came with the pump sealed everything like a submarine. I didn't even have to use any sort of pad crafting tool. You must tighten everything evenly to ensure a good seal. Subaru requires 4.7 ft-lbs for the bolts connecting the water pump to the engine and 10.3 ft-lbs for the pulley bolts. The new pump looks identical to the factory pump that I removed from the car. Except for the splash marks (no Subaru logo). I suspect Aisin is the OEM supplier of the water pumps for this machine. I've driven the car about 500 miles so far and it's still dry on the outside and hot and wet on the inside, like a hot pocket well done.
