Easier to empty and clean than Camelbak - big benefit for me

I have used Camelbak for many years. But the Camelbak has a nasty design flaw: the bushing (yellow lever) catches and is very easy to remove. I've had to replace it 3 times over the life of my Camelbak. After losing the third, I decided it was time to give up Camelbak and give Platypus a try, and damn it, I was glad I did. Here's why: β–Ά Case is securely attached The Camelback's case is easy to detach and lose. On the other hand, the tube is attached to the platypus very securely and will not come off.β–Ά The design of the hole makes it easier to empty and clean the bladder. Unlike the camelbak, the platypus can be emptied simply by turning it upside down to pour out all the water thanks to the zippered hole at the end of the platypus. Due to the location of the hole, which is on the SIDE of the chamber, there is always some residual water left in the camelbak after the first attempt to drain the water. It always takes some fiddling to get the remaining water out of the bladder. I've always found that to be a real problem. Platypus also has a large opening for easy cleaning. I can easily put my whole arm in to get into the back streets. β–Ά Less chemical taste. The bladder material gives the water a less chemical taste. Another feature of the Platypus that I really like: β–Ά Easy-to-detach quick-disconnect hose The Platypus hose has a quick-release mechanism to detach it from the hydration bladder. (The new camelbak has the same quick-release mechanism, but my old camelbak didn't). There is one thing I do NOT like about the Platypus: β–· Rigid mouthpiece (bite valve) The mouthpiece is a bit stiff, so the bite force is greater. required to open the bite valve. Due to the narrower mouth of the bite valve, I also have to suck harder to get water out of my bladder. I've only used the Platypus a couple of times so the bite valve may still need cracking. I think the bite valve stiffness will work itself out over time. --- Despite relatively minor complaints, I love Platypus and absolutely prefer Camelbak.
