I usually work with 26 gauge wire (usually gold filled and sterling silver) and then I go from 28-22 gauge, POSSIBLY 20 gauge, with these wire cutters. For a while I wove a string of beads on wire almost every day and ate the incisors every 3-6 months. I worked in a bead shop for 4 years and it was typical cutters. I asked a friend who owns a bead shop and she recommended these chisels to me. The price was a little steep as I usually didn't want to spend more than $12 (because I tore up the expensive ones a lot!) but these guys are GREAT! Especially when he's working with that tiny wire, he's getting into all these impossible little places. I've even brought these blades back to some of my previous pieces and it was amazing how much smoother I got in the trickiest spots. IT WAS WORTH IT!
