So I'm using this on an external outlet to provide GFCI protection for my Christmas lights. Now for the fun part: I have a Wi-Fi switch in my basement that controls when an outside outlet turns on and off, so I can program the Christmas lights to turn on at sunset and turn off at 1am. The reason I didn't install an external GFCI socket is that many GFCI sockets need to be reset after a power outage. Every time I cycle this outlet I have to go outside and reset the GFCI BUT. This built in GFCI cable does NOT need to be reset, it stays installed and operational when the switch is cycled. So if you're using it in an outlet that turns on and off this plug works great, looks very reliable and is perfect for the occasional Christmas light up or turning on a fan on an inflatable trampoline house, two things that get stuck in this socket.
