Review on πŸš— Gabriel 77847 Monotube Absorber with Advanced CONTROL Technology by Omar Svagera

'Great deal' turned out to be poor quality and very expensive

Me claim to have professionally installed them on my 2004 jeep grand cherokee it all started with missing the rubber bushings needed to mount them on the shock absorber the shop where i installed them ordered new bushings and did the installation completed. At first everything went well. The ride was smooth and it improved handling. About 5,000 miles later when the days got very cold a strange popping noise started. It sounded like it was coming from somewhere ahead but I never thought that it's the shock absorbers.Since the jeep has driven 125,000 miles I started to think it's just age and doesn't like the cold. After 7500 miles there was a thump that sprang from every little bump and pothole. To keep the jeep safe, I brought it back to the store. After almost a full day of testing, they finally determined it was the shocks. All shocks have a 2-3 inch dead zone at the top of the compression stroke. I had to buy 4 new shock absorbers (KYB) and again pay for the installation cost plus time to diagnose the problem. I would avoid this product.

Pros
  • MaxComfort - Larger bore 1 13⁄16" (46mm) allows the shock to react more quickly to bumps and other road bumps for the smoothest possible ride
Cons
  • weak
