So I got married and the host at my wedding said they needed some gentle amplification, nothing serious with a speaker or anything, just something to help convey their little voice . This speaker is just what you need - it doesn't require a cable or an outlet. You can just go outside with it and it will amplify your voice. Properly held, I would say about twice the volume of the human voice, which is completely sufficient for my needs.
