This is a great product for the price, ZDDP is one of the cheapest and most effective wear prevention materials that can be added to engine oil. This engine oil additive makes SN rated oils suitable for OEM flat tappet use. Don't worry about this being a smaller bottle, vs. the 32 oz. bottle. I changed my oil on my 1980 plymouth 6 cylinder. This concentrate gives you several more ounces than other brands and a better price. There is not much zinc in motor oil anymore.don't need it with todays motors. Great for old pushrod type motors that had more zinc inthe oil then.

Can't think of anything more confusing these days than getting the right motor oil for older engines. Every oil company makes various claims for their products and all are supposedly backward compatible - even when they certainly are not. I use this stuff with every oil change in my 89 bmw 325i daily driver with the m20b25 strait 6. These engines seem to make lots of noise in the top end due to their old school flat tappet design (sounds kinda like a typewriter). Wow does this additive quiet the noise down! Night and day difference.Edit: I still buy this stuff. They changed the bottle (used to be yellow) but still great product. Added half a bottle to a work van w/ 250k and lifter tick went away!

It definitely work for noisy with lifters,I had a couple lifters rattling on an older engine and I put this in the oil and ran it for about 30 minutes and Dumped the oil and I’ve been surprised I’ve driven about 1000 miles and the oil seems cleaner and I haven’t had a noisy lifters.
