Review on Enhance Control and Train Your ๐Ÿถ Small Dog with the Generic GT-211SW Shock Collar by Teresa Olson

Works fine but sorry I went cheap. The battery life is terrible.

A few years ago I had a large dog and bought a PetSafe model for about $100 to train him. It worked like a charm. So when it came time to teach my small dog not to run away and heal on command, I went in search of a small dog version. I bought it because it was cheap and the reviews were ok. Terrible battery life is what really kills it. He died at the wrong time when my dog had wandered too far and now I couldn't "honk" him to come back. The PetSafe model I owned rarely needed charging. I also like that the Petsafe model only has one button that you hold down and it beeps three times and then slams if you don't lift your finger before slamming. This model has separate horns and a kick button. I'm trying to be consistent (alert beep then shock if needed) but I'm not sure if it beeps when it's gone and I don't know how often. So finally. I probably "saved" $60 buying this alternative, but now I never leave it with my dog anymore. So it's in the box. I left the PetSafe collar on my large dog for a few weeks so he was ready to go when he was chasing a squirrel or whatever.

Pros
  • Electronic Training Collars
Cons
  • Useless Features
