I have to say in advance that I am very sensitive to materials. I am allergic to faux fur and have to be very careful with the blankets I bring into my home. I thought this blanket would suit me because it says 100% polyester/microfiber and my sofa is made of that material and it doesn't bother me. So I didn't even think about it. I got progressively worse the week after receiving the blanket, but I didn't put it on the blanket, I figured it was my dog/cat allergy or pollen allergy. My eyes were swollen, my throat was swollen and itchy, I was very tired etc. So I did what I always do when I have an allergy attack - I washed everything. I washed everything including the blanket which was a mistake. At some point I began to suspect the ceiling. I went outside and wrapped myself in it and felt so bad I could hardly breathe. That's when I realized I had made a horrible mistake washing and drying this damn thing mixed with all my other clothes, sheets and blankets! Now I'm just trying to decontaminate the house and it's such a pain. This blanket really ruined my life for two weeks. I'm not sure what made me sick, but I'm NOT allergic to the materials it claims to contain, so there seems to be some other weird material/chemical mixed in with it. If you have sensitive allergies, take my advice and stay away from this comforter!
