Soft front and back, very absorbent but my son's overalls still get wet as the bibs have no back barrier. But still better than changing 10+ overalls a day. The bibs do fade after washing and roll a bit on the back, but I think it's just such a material. The front fabric does not roll at all. I have another brand that fits my son's throat better, it fits a little oddly and ends up in his mouth quite often. Overall, these aren't bad bibs, but I have better ones, and the patterns, while gender neutral, aren't fabulous.
