The color is almost the same as described but a little lighter. Very red, almost like Merlot. The bad news is they smell awful! It smells like a cheap fabric factory, it's almost unbearable. I had to wet my Febreeze very hard to get even a tiny bit of the smell out. I'm going on a trip so I packed it and hope it doesn't stink in my other clothes. I have to say the quality seems really good, I think it will protect my head and neck while I'm abroad at -1C. It's a neutral color so it goes well with my black parka.
