I "inherited" a 17 year old horse that unpredictably withdraws when tied to a trailer (I look after my stepfather's horses). His halters are broken, the halters are jamming the half rings on the trailer etc. My SD, who has worked with horses all his life, said he has tried everything and is stuck. After digging around the internet I made a DYI blocker tie ring and surprised my SD with a working solution that no other horse person had come up with. The horse is still backing away, but now it stops, realizing it cannot free itself. I see confusion on his face. I'll pull it off and we'll start over. Then I found "Safe-Clip". I love that everything is one piece with no moving parts to secure the rope. I bought this product and bought a second one to use on other horses because it was easier (quicker) for my 12 year old daughter than tying a horse to a trailer. Then I bought a 3 year old gelding. and my daughter and I worked over 7 hours to sink it into the trailer. We used a clamp to help us take up the slack as the horse slowly made its way toward the trailer. She was able to keep the rope from slipping herself when the horse tried to back away, and she felt very good. I am confident that this product has saved me and my horse from injury. It should be for us.
