It consists of 2 parts. a mounting plate that screws onto the switch/outlet box and a screwless plate that snaps onto that mounting plate. The way they are packaged is NOT the way they are installed. Turn the mounting plate over! If you look at the two pieces you will see that both have inscriptions on the same side. This side is adjacent to the wall. This can be seen on the front panel, which also has the "up" direction marked. They don't come with instructions so I assumed they came installed in the package. I struggled with the mounting plate until I stopped cursing and thought for a moment. I think if they were packaged the way they were supposed to be installed they would snap during transit but a little sheet of instructions would have saved me a lot of headache. beat. Once I figured that out, installation was easy. They match my Lutron and Leviton rocker switches and sockets and give a nice clean updated look.
