I didn't know what to expect at this price. I was expecting a plastic construction and feel. I was expecting a cheap build that feels cheap and cheap because it compares favorably to big brands. Oddly enough, it doesn't seem cheap and seems to work very well. I don't use a smooth pan/tilt head very often. Just like I don't use the pan/tilt very often. However; When I bought the probe, I followed the marketing of the better brands and settled on the $500 pan/tilt head. Looked reasonable and average. I tried to love it because I paid $500 for it and ended up not using it. because I didn't love him. It was awkward, not smooth. It was well made but not very functional or fun to use. So you guessed it; I stopped using it. I ended up selling it for pennies for a dollar. My point of view is this; I tried another pan/tilt fluid and was a little impressed, but it used a large tripod pad that I don't use, so I gave it to a buddy of mine who uses a large tripod pad. Then I started thinking about all the possibilities. I was able to use smooth tilt/pan in my photos and I searched and bought this because I use Peak Design small plates. And i love it! I first used it for a vodcast and it was so easy, safe and functional that I will keep using it for photography and even some nature videos! Royal photographers use extremely expensive equipment, and most of it is probably worth it. I sell my work, but I'm far from royal. This smooth-running pan/tilt head was worth it and it also looks really good!
