Looks like a pin or screw needs to go through the brace to keep it from falling off. I have a very large dog that likes to jump on my bed and that was the reason for the purchase. She moves the whole mattress. They're pretty tight, but still fall off. I drive the screws in to hold them in place, but it looks like they must have something with them already.
