They are great for product photography. I have a desktop photography rig built from several of these and they are versatile, get rid of annoying light stands on the floor and if used correctly can even help reduce cord and cord clutter. They can hold lamps, webcams, or phones if you have the right mounts. Smart and very good to have a few on hand if you keep a lot of video logs, video chats, etc. I even use a desk stand for my caller ID for my video calls on the back of my desk and the caller ID rises right above my monitor. Very easy to set up and it doesn't get in the way and like I said off the ground!
