This cover is designed for people 8.5-11 feet tall; it's generous and works for the sizes advertised, but a bit oversized for the lower end of the scale. My kayak is 9.5, it floats in the case BUT there are 3 adjustable straps to tighten the case. It's a real help as I was able to tighten the straps to secure the case around the boat to ensure there were no bugs, snakes, water etc d. enter. In addition, there is also a lever that helps adjust the fit. Not as useful as belts in my case. I recommend. As for durability, I'll give the verdict in a year!
