Candles are not suitable unless you melt the soil before inserting them.
My son loves his twinkling birthday candle. My only problem was that the spark plugs didn't match the plastic flash number. I've even tried other brands of candles. After breaking a few, I finally realized I had to use a lighter to melt the bottom of the candle in order for it to fuse.
