The packaging warns to spit carefully to avoid making a big mess. They weren't kidding! When first opening I would suggest doing this over a sink or paper/foil lined counter. The seal in the lid allows some of the powder to seep under the protective tape during transport. Aside from my hands being covered in coal dust when I first opened the container; I like the product. It whitens as expected and eliminates the rough feel that some other products have. You must brush and floss thoroughly after using this product. Dead tissue around the gum line turns black and needs to be brushed further with a soft toothbrush and some regular toothpaste. The product is labeled mint but tastes like nothing. This was a bonus for me as too much mint makes me sick. Overall a decent product. I expect this to last for quite a while as I don't use it more than twice a week along with my regular dental care.
