There was much discussion between the description of the Rubbermaid egg storage item, the questions asked and some of the responses received. Like some of you, I was wondering if this would be a worthy substitute for storing fresh farm eggs instead of using the paper and/or foam egg cartons that we all recycle from the store-bought cartons we make ours around Ask family and friends to save. For us. Well, in my situation it was worth it. I will explain. I sell surplus eggs to friends and family and over the course of a few months have accumulated a surplus in packs of 12 and 18. This is how I have kept all my eggs, both for personal use and for sale. I prefer to keep really nice, neat boxes for personal use, but sometimes they get mixed up with the surplus that I use for my clients. In short, other people don't always take good care of your belongings. The ones I lend them with the eggs I supply wear out over time, are abused, or thrown away. You get the picture. The rubber containers are for me, and me only, to store my personal eggs and the surplus eggs I wish to sell. My personal eggs are refrigerated in rubber containers, while the eggs that are sold are stored in rubber containers on the counter and then transferred to cartons for reuse at the time of sale. BEST. INVESTMENTS. JE. I have 10 sexlink red hens that are 8 months old and lay large to giant eggs. I don't know what some of the people answering some of the questions asked call "giants," but to me, a "giant egg" is anywhere from 2.5 to 3 ounces. You are tall. To be clear, 20 "giant" eggs (by my definition) will NOT fit in this container unless they are laid next to other eggs, which changes the way they fit in the "nest pits" formed " sit, causing the eggs to sit a little. higher, which means that the lid does not close or does not close properly. Now I add that the container itself is as strong as any other rubber container I've ever had. Some people say the lid is thinner, but that's not true. It just seems "thinner," as some have said, since it's larger than the small storage container lids we're all used to. Bigger means "more flexible", but to say they are "thin" would be a lie. Anyway, back to stacking containers with giant eggs. You will have difficulty stacking more than 2 containers without risk of breakage and/or stack instability and discontinuity. Anything up to a 2.5 ounce egg works perfectly. If I have multiple sized eggs, I simply adjust the arrangement of the different sized eggs to match the sized eggs I receive. The problem is solved just like that. I'll say if you're one of the lucky ones who collects nothing but jumbo eggs every morning, this container might not be for you. I am attaching photographs showing large and very large eggs. They ALL fit in perfectly. REFRIGERATOR STORAGE: As you already know, these are nests for 20 eggs in each container. And because the eggs lie on their sides, the container is slightly larger than an 18-pack carton, both in width and length. I don't have a tape measure handy otherwise I would have measured both, but I'll post pictures that better describe the size difference and help you determine if this item is right for your needs. I consider one of the advantages of these containers to be their lower overall height. I can stack 4 bins in an area (height) only suitable for three 18-packs, but the bin is wider. The best way to describe it is this: In my fridge, 8 rubber containers fit where I pressed nine boxes of 18, 160 eggs vs. 162 eggs (in favor of the boxes, of course). The most important thing for me is that I have 8 GOOD, durable and practical containers that I keep for personal use. On the plus side, they double up for all "Fucking Eggs" when needed. I haven't done this yet, but judging by the design, the cleaning looks no worse than any other dishes I have. I haven't researched this, but it might even be dishwasher safe. No matter how I look at it, cardboard boxes just don't mix with dual-use rubber containers. And as others have said, go shopping. I won't disrespect Revain by saying how much I paid, but it wasn't the $10-12 price tag you see here. I'm only giving this item 4 stars because it was supposed to contain 24 eggs. Hope this review helps. Troy47/M/Tx
