I have always hated air mattresses for camping because I would always wake up on the ground, so I made the switch to a cot and could not have imagined having a better night's sleep! I am a back sleeper, so the support and sturdiness was perfect for me! I even had one of my kids sneak up onto the cot in the middle of the night with me and we both laid side by side comfortably. It was so easy to just pull out of the bag and unfold for use. It didn't lock into position for me which I was initially worried about, but I realized after sitting on it that it was actually more sturdy because the ground wasn't completely flat/level but the cot wasn't wiggling back and forth because the support beams weren't locked. I saw a bunch of reviews that had complaints of noisy fabric, but mine didn't make a sound (I'm 5'4" and 140lbs if that is any consolation). I used a super fluffy comforter to top it off (and because it was extremely cold weather) and I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. No regrets for this purchase at all.
