Direct replacement; Hot!
Very good replacement for my table lamps. The only problem is their heat dissipation. This type of light (both the original and these replacement bulbs) emits a lot of heat when in "high" mode. In fact, the heat is so intense that I burned out four transformers - not because of the energy consumed, but because of the heat generated in the confined space. *** This is not the fault of these lamps; They are a direct replacement for poor lighting design. ***
