For owners of older 2nd generation Tacomas, this camera is great, but installation is more labor intensive than traditional license plate frame cameras. Because this camera is built into the tailgate latch handle (included!), installation requires removing the tailgate interior trim, replacing the latch handle assembly, and drilling the cable routing holes. I used a step drill to drill a clean hole in the bottom edge of the tailgate, completely invisible. The wiring is also very simple. The camera and the RVC trigger of the head unit are powered via the reversing light circuit in the rear lights and the wiring for this is easily accessible under the truck. The video quality of the camera is excellent even in low light conditions. The only negative thing I can say about the tailgate latch handle style is that they aren't very useful when the tailgate is down. If you drive a lot with the tailgate down, or need to remove the tailgate from time to time, a bracket attached to the license plate frame is more appropriate.
