Loosely knit. Bad protection for painting or dirty art.

Size and color are great and really should be sold as curtain fabric as many reviewers have used it for exactly that. I bought this as a real painting and drawing cloth because it matches the product description. The fabric is too porous and needs to be folded several times to ensure your paint or other media doesn't bleed through to the surface below. No napkin at all and will not protect your work surface.
