I had originally installed a (supposed) brass garden hose splitter that I purchased at the big Orange box store. It lasted 2 seasons (removed from the house each winter), but always leaked in the area where the splitter screws onto the valve attached to the house, no matter how much Teflon tape I used on the threads. Eventually, that splitter failed and fell apart in my hands. This splitter is well constructed of heavy brass and does not leak. It also came with a couple rolls of lightweight Teflon tape. I am very satisfied with this splitter. Unfortunately, the connection at the top is the weak link, and failed after only 3 months under the weight of the hose. There are many other all brass hose splitters at or around this price point. I assume they are all similarly constructed, and eventually will fail, but I will buy another of these splitters and replace them as needed.
