    Super Soap!: Basen & Melts

Yet another new endeavor for me that I'm now addicted to. It melted easily and contained the dried herbs that I added to the soap. It cleans the skin well and I'm looking for other cleansing properties than foam as it's not always needed. It feels great on your skin. Very very happy with it

Worked great in my layered soap

Worked great in my layered soap. I layered the oatmeal along with the clear glycerin and the layers held together perfectly. Clarity was a different brand (Dr. Adorable). The oatmeal base crumbled when cut but melted and set very well. In the photo, the oatmeal base consists of pink and white layers, the remaining layers are transparent with activated carbon and burgundy mica.

    Good quality product

This is my first attempt at making soap and it was great to use. It is very easy to work with and forgive mistakes. I was able to warm up several times with no problems. It has virtually no smell, which is what I wanted as I wanted to add my own scent. It makes the skin pleasantly soft and is easy to clean without leaving any residue. Dries fast. I will definitely try other soap bases from this line.

    Easy base for soap making

This base is very easy to cut and melt. I've used it to make breast milk soap, but tested the base myself before mixing it with breast milk to try it out. The soap itself is not very moisturizing. I felt really dry after using it and needed some hydration. After melting to make soap, small pieces of oatmeal will still form and the soap may be a little scratchy. It also dissipates quickly when you take a bath at night. It has a mild scent so don't use it thinking it will make you smell fresh as…

    My First Attempt

So that was my first attempt. I bought some scented oils and a soap based dye to color the bars. This easily melted in the microwave in about 3.5 minutes per block (2 blocks total). I love bar soap so I thought I'd let my 7 year old son help me make it. It fits easily into silicone molds and dries fairly quickly. I didn't use enough fragrance oil to keep it from smelling (not that bad). He generally doesn't lather well, and I"soap box". it's probably due to the colloidal oatmeal in it from what

I'm new to the soap business!

For making soap for the first time, I'm very happy with myself! I started by dicing a 1lb block and then melting this oatmeal base in a double boiler. It's best to melt slowly over medium-high heat, which took about 10 minutes stirring constantly. This is not a process where you can walk away and make phone calls. I added 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and once it melted I took it off the heat and added about 10 drops of 100% pure peppermint essential oil. Make sure your molds are ready ahead of…
