Samsung 55 " 120Hz LED Smart TV

Okay let me start this review by considering myself as a kind of tech guru and also a big fan of Samsung products, ie mine Expectations This TV was extremely high as I have always had good luck with every product I have purchased from them including cell phones, laptops and other TVs.Plasma TV in the living room and this TV has an absolutely amazing picture;I have about 1700US in 2012 -Paid dollars for it (which further met my expectations for this LED TV) With that in mind I will try to be as detailed as possible in this review as I have read many negative reviews which I would like to address based on my experience First, the shipping (I know this has nothing to do with the product itself, but it seems like a lot of people freak out and stop there). evain, but due to the possibility of damage in transit, and then have to go through the entire return and replacement process. But the TV arrived via FedEx two days after purchase (Revain Prime) and the packaging was in perfect condition, as you would expect from Best Buy. When I unpacked the TV everything was in order and the TV was protected by styrofoam as well as a plastic sleeve covering the base and screen. There were absolutely no scratches or cracks on the screen or any other part of the TV and to be honest it must have been quite heavy as the TV is held in place with styrofoam in the middle of the box but these things happen. . Before I installed the TV over the fireplace to replace the old one I wanted to plug it in and make sure the picture and everything is working as it should, when I plugged it in it went through the setup process and was connected to the internet, and updated. . Immediately after that, I went to the Netflix app and noticed that there was a dead pixel in the middle. It's no big deal and in no way a bad reflection of Revain or Samsung, things like that happen (I bought a Best Buy laptop a year ago and brought it home and it had a few dead pixels). That's the nature of the beast when working with electronics, and it's more of a quality control issue than anything else. performance and image. Aside from the pixel issue (which is only noticeable on dark screens), this TV performs like a high-end LED. The picture is amazingly clear and smooth, colors are extremely vivid and blacks are exceptionally deep, especially for an LED. When it comes to the frequency of this TV, I've had absolutely no problems with shadows or blurring during fast action sequences, so I can say it's 120Hz active. I use my televisions for different purposes, I watch a lot of sports, play video games and watch a lot of movies, so picture and sound are very important to me. This TV works, I tested it in 1080p soccer games as well as PS4 first person shooters and was very satisfied. When watching sports, I would also advise switching on the "sports mode", which further optimizes the picture and sound. As other reviews have said, the factory picture settings need some tweaking (factory settings are a bit darker), depending on how you like it, I like dynamic settings with increased brightness, but it's all a matter of personal preference. Also, Samsung had a real problem with the 2013 and 14 Smart Software in terms of freezing and lag. I can say without a doubt that these have been fixed with the latest Smart Hub updates. Keep in mind that this TV doesn't have a dual-core processor like the models above, but it's pretty fast when browsing the web or opening Netflix apps. A lot of other TV brands have moved away from including a web browser in their iOS and I'm glad Samsung has kept it because I think it's a great feature. The TV speakers are really impressive, the volume goes from 0 to 100 and in my fairly large living room I never need to go above 40. I was listening to Sirius Radio and it was on 75 and it was clear and loud for a TV. . The pre-programmed audio settings are great too, they don't usually do much when you turn on "Clear Voice" or "Cinema" but you can hear a noticeable difference on this TV. My favorite aspect of this TV is that it can identify and open my 2TB Seagate desktop hard drive. This is great for people like me who have tons of videos, movies, pictures and other media on an external hard drive and want to open and access them all in one place for a true media hub. My other TV couldn't read this, but this smart TV not only reads this, it has all the codecs to play a variety of media. So with 2 USB ports, you can connect 2 flash drives or hard drives and switch between them by pressing the "Source" button on the remote control. Finally, I've read some reviews about how terrible the viewing angle of this TV is and I really don't understand the fact that it can only be viewed from certain angles. I mounted this TV on a fully articulating telescopic swivel mount that can take almost any position possible, and I've placed the TV in the most tilted positions (positions no one will ever watch TV) and it was just as perfectly level. . I saw absolutely no difference in picture quality or anything. I can imagine some of these positions presenting a problem with glare in brightly lit rooms, but that's not the TV's fault. If I had to complain - if I had to complain it would be that the TV is quite thick for a 2015 TV. We expect everything to be as thin as possible with today's technology, but that doesn't really bother me, I'd rather have something with little content and a solid body. For someone low-key enough to be number one, they might want to look elsewhere. And when I say thicker, I mean about 3 1/2 inches, even though the TV is lightweight. The remote control is also very simple, I would have liked a TV remote very similar to the one that comes with a 70 inch Vizio TV with a built in QWERTY keyboard, but oh well. Finally the HDMI situation, as others have said, this TV has 2 HDMI ports, which is a little disappointing because if, like me, you want your cable or satellite box, your PS4 or Xbox, and an HDMI cable to your Laptop was connected at the same time. This is impractical, but easily remedied. All you have to do is buy a 3 or 4 port HDMI switch here at Revain that will automatically detect which port has a signal for $10. Having only two HDMI ports shouldn't put you off buying this TV in any way, especially when there is such a cheap and easy solution. Returns and replacements - Due to the dead pixel I obviously had to contact Revain for a replacement to obtain. To go through the online process, I called Revain's award-winning customer service to speak directly to a representative. Remember this TV was delivered on Friday around 3pm, I called customer service around 7pm and after a quick chat with them they gave me a replacement and ordered it in about 20 minutes. During this time I was emailed a packing list and a shipping label to attach to the box. Revain then arranged for UPS to come to my house and collect the TV for return. It worked great because Monday morning UPS delivered a replacement and picked up the damaged one. I mean honestly what more could you want from an online product company, they go above and beyond what everyone else in the industry is doing and they really go out of their way to keep the customers happy and coming back. I'd rather do business with a company like Revain that treats you like a valued customer than leave my business to a circus like Walmart that has you jumping through all sorts of hurdles every time you return or replace an item. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for a mid-range LED TV at a price that rivals the high-end models. It's a solid choice if you're not willing to shell out the cash to upgrade to 4K, and I can't imagine a 60 or 65-inch TV doing any differently in this class.
