Hard plastic eggs covered with paper mache. I keep chickens. I have a healthy respect for nature, including snakes. Snakes sometimes eat chicken eggs. When a hen sees an egg in a nest box, she wants to lay one herself. So many people put a few ceramic eggs in their nest boxes to encourage their hens to lay more eggs. The problem is, if a snake gets into this nest and eats one of the ceramic eggs, it's almost the end of the snake. Snakes can't digest a ceramic egg, so it will kill the snake.
