Revainrating 5 out of 5

Of my three NP-F series camera and light chargers, this is the best.

NAME: DOTTMON NP-F Series LCD Battery Charger PRICE: $16.00 (rounded up) MY OPINION: You would think there isn't much to say about the charger...but for me , and only at the end of a few months reviewing Revain products did I accumulate a respectable amount of lighting systems that are battery powered. But with batteries comes the need for chargers. When it comes to chargers, not all have the same design. The most important characteristics of a good charger are the "control of charging speed" and "the ability to observe the charging values". The Dottmon charger has both. And the price is quite reasonable. You can see in my video my overview table includes three chargers; one for my A6400 camera (battery type NP-FW50 @ 1300mAh) and two chargers for my lighting gear. While these three chargers are similar, they are also very different. Only Dottmon for the two major battery types has a voltage and current monitoring display, as well as an easy-to-read 5-icon display that shows the charging progress to full charge. And it also has the ability to charge at three different amperages. And again, unlike most cheap chargers, Dottman shows you both the real-time battery voltage level and the current/level while charging. A bad battery with an internal short or high resistance will show a lower than normal battery voltage no matter how long you charge. And it can also display constant high or low current levels. The Dottmann display can therefore convey this detailed information. for your information. These large NP-F970 batteries are typically 8.4 volts. All in all, I'm a fan of this latest addition to my "powerbox" desk; Essential 5-star accessory.
